“more than 1,300 individually identified trees”
The Boone County Arboretum is a 120-acre facility located in rural Boone County, Kentucky. Open to the public, the facility is unique in integrating an arboretum with active recreation (baseball diamonds, soccer fields) and passive recreation (walking/jogging trails, wildlife observation areas). The arboretum consists of more than 1,300 individually identified trees, more than 200 managed plant beds, 8 featured points of interest, and an abundance of wooded and natural areas. Approximately 41,000 linear feet of underground irrigation lines and sprinklers help ensure that the arboretum’s valuable investments in trees and plants will continue to live, even during droughtlike conditions.
