“Inspiring appreciation of the Texas Rangers”

The Texas Ranger is one of the most cherished symbols of the Lone Star State, a positive and enduring icon of Texas and America. Many families take immense pride in having a relative who was, or is, a Texas Ranger. Past and present ranks include Texans of Hispanic, Anglo-European, African, American Indian and Asian ancestry. The Mission of the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum is to disseminate knowledge and inspire appreciation of the Texas Rangers, a legendary symbol of Texas and the American West; To serve as the principal repository for artifacts and archives relating to the Texas Rangers. The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum is home to Bonnie & Clyde's shotguns and Clyde's pocketwatch, taken from their corpses after the shootout that claimed their lives, in which several Texas Rangers took part.

It was a fun stop on our road trip. Had a lot of Texas history and information on the role of the Texas rangers from the past until now. If you like history it's worth a stop.

The Texas Rangers have every reason to be proud of those who put together this museum and Hall of Fame documenting their momentous history. It is just amazing. We spent hours there looking at everything. My son loved the scavenger hunt, as well! It kept him amused as we poured through the exhibits...several of which were hands-on...how neat is that??? Okay...my one complaint: it's puny, my I have to say it. The souvenir shop is just awful. The only Ranger badges they had for kids were just sad and totally unreal...even for kid badges. We had passed up a $4 at a gas station because we just knew my son would want a "real" one from the Ranger Museum, and I kicked myself afterwards when I paid $7 for the cruddy one. Seriously, we would have bought some great stuff if their had been anything cool there to get. Now...as for what we came there for...the Museum...it was just spectacular!!! :)
