“Local oysters and more!”
Eat the Rich is an oyster bar created by James Beard Award nominee Derek Brown and award-winning oysterman Travis Croxton of Rappahannock River Oysters. Featuring both local oysters and a Chesapeake Bay-centric menu, Eat the Rich is a tribute to the great oyster houses of Washington, D.C. and Mid-atlantic cuisine. We also serve pitcher cocktails and oyster shooters alongside a playlist of rock--the place is named after a Mötorhead song after all. Lemmy, this message is for you: we’ll totally install a video picture game on the bar if you come hang out and drink with us. C’mon baby, Eat the Rich!
Grab a pitcher of Clamato and beer before moving on to cocktails at Derek Brown's Shaw booze-and-oyster bar. The tangy lovechild of a Michelada and a Bloody Mary pairs especially well with Rappahannock oysters on the half shell or a plate of Redneck Laundry--a DIY plate of potato chips, caviar, onion, chopped egg and crème fraîche.
