“enjoy the crystal clear waters”
Lake Algonquin is the center of the small hamlet of Wells, easily seen from Route 30, with a few nice boating access points. Wells is a nice hamlet stretching for about three miles along Lake Algonquin, a town owned lake that is yet another dammed up part of the Sacandaga River. To the north, there’s a small but free sandy town lake beach at the foot of the Route 30 bridge. Also, the town maintains a free dock and boat launch on the west side of the lake.
Great place to take your boat with and travel along the Lake while the water relaxes you mind.
The surroundings are gorgeous and full of green and you will be able to see a beautiful sunset if you stay until that time.
We took some food while driving there and sat at the benches outside the lake to eat it calmly.
Parking is free of charge and due to the fact it is not an overcrowded place, there is plenty of space to park your car.
