“historic Rte. 66 establishment”
Rod's Steak House, established August 23, 1946, during the heyday of Historic Route 66, celebrated 50 years of excellent cuisine and service in 1996. Located 60 miles south of the Grand Canyon in Williams, Arizona, Rod's is a world famous restaurant and has been visited by people from all walks of life and many foreign countries. The much sought after menu, die-cut in the shape of a steer, proudly boasts American food.
Went on a Wed night and there was only 1 waiter. He was doing the best he could, but service was very slow. For a steakhouse, the steaks were only ok and they only give 1 free refill on sodas (which I didn't even get). If you want great steak for about the same price, head 1 block over to Red Raven
Dropped in here one night after being pulled over just down the street by a highly suspicious cop (the second time that day!) who basically told us to eat, sleep then get out of town, for now reason. Just remembered that little tale! Anyway, I remember Rod's Steak House being a pretty average experience unfortunately. Don't remember too many details now, my visit was in 2008 I think..
It's a Route 66 classic, so you probably already know what to expect from this place: kitschy retro atmosphere, huge steaks, friendly service. Nothing fancy, but solid.
Food was alright, pretty much meat and potatoes. But, service was good, it's a really small town, and there's not too much else around.
Best Burgers in usa!
