Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on January 25, 2023Reasonable price, we stayed in overflow area for $15.00 a night with electric. Friendly staff, very clean restrooms, pay hot showers were $1, and clean laundry room area.Yuma was about 5 minutes away. Yuma has a very nice municipal park with a linear park, great for biking. Huge playground if you have kids. We spent most of our time at the park. We tried several Mexican restaurants in town, Mr. G's was our favorite, cheap and good, generous portions. The campground wasn't all that dog friendly, some areas off limits to dogs. Would stay there again.

Pros of rv park:
off highway far enough quite at night (train near by either a plus or minus depending on if you like the sounds of trains)
Fairly Close to Yuma Territorial Prison, St. Thomas mission, Yuma National Historic Park, downtown Yuma, river parks...still have to drive but not clear across town.
$35 a night full hook ups
Game room
Swimming pool
A few exercise classes
Activity Center
Everyone seemed super friendly.
Cons:
Laundry seemed high to us at $2.00 was $1.75 to dry.
Tight spaces. The section we were in you are facing your neighbor, with your back close to your next neighbor. You each have your own picnic table but they are two feet apart. Obviously not a big deal for a short stay.
Air plans fly over frequently.
Last note: they allow dogs... kinda, but can’t walk around the whole park with your dog. We like to walk up and down the rows with our dog, not only exercise for her but for us as well.... limited to a couple rows. Choices are to walk to growing fields next door or busy road. No dogs allowed on the grass areas in the park, sadly my dog loves to lay and roll in the grass...she didn’t like this rule.
For all this we gave it 3 stars.

This is tough to review because we arrived after heavy rainstorm so campground was very wet and VERY muddy. (If rain is in forecast I suggest u find a campground on higher ground!) But overall - it was ok.
It’s located right off Rt 8 in the agriculture area - surrounded by growing fields. Sites are small, narrow, and close together. Normally this never bothers me, but for some reason it felt uncomfortably close together. Facilities were older - bathrooms, laundry etc, but clean and in working order. Showers were $1 and you have to run the hot water in the sink first for about ten min to get hot water in the shower. Kind of ironic being charged for water use but need to waste 10 min of running water....? Also just a pain to have quarters! Park has no coin machine so u just gotta plan ahead. And did I mention there are no lights in the showers...?....yeah its a little dark. Oh and here’s something funny - because it’s right on AZ border we had two different time zones in the RV!!! I would be in the bedroom and my phone would say 9pm mountain time, but my husband would be in living room and his phone was an hour behind on pacific time! We had no idea what time it was the whole time we were there. Haha!! Was convenient Old Town Yuma and Historical Prison but despite its proximity to retail district, its a bit of a drive to real grocery store. It’s a fine place to stay for an inexpensive $35 a nite - but don’t think I would stay here again. Not for any negative reason, but there are many other parks in the area and I would probably just try another. Foothill area seems to have some nice parks and we liked that area better.

This is a smaller, peaceful park for the budget minded. That said it could benefit from some gradual upgrades. Specifically do something about the dirt roads that are extremely muddy after a rain and replace the laundry machines that are regularly out of order. Landscaping and palm trees are lovely. Staff are very friendly and there was live entertainment at the holiday parties. There are a couple activities every day and a nice pool. Nowhere safe to walk or bike from the park itself but just over the river in Yuma there are parks and trails to get your exercise. Winterhaven itself is basically a ghost town but Yuma has all the stores you could want. The park runs on AZ time. Our site was very comfortable as it backed up to palm trees and a farm field of lettuce. Highway noise is a constant low drone but park itself is quiet. WiFi goes in and out as does the ability to stream.

One of the closest RV parks to Algodones and not a bad value for the money. Many campsites are close together but for a week or so tolerable. Showers are clean but cost a buck. The laundry's are clean and the machines are fairly new. The park roads are compacted gravel but we had no issues with dust. Lots of activities and the hosts are friendly. Hot tub is back in action and was wonderful on this old body. Winterhaven is an ag community so don't expect much. But a short hop to Yuma and all the services you need as well as 15 mins to some of the best dentists in Mexico and the US for that matter. (Hint). Food City market on 8th St in Yuma has the best prices on fresh produce and caters to the hispanic community so it has goods you won't find in the other markets. Great prices on most other foods too.
Now the wifi. It sucks. Just terrible. We hotspoted on our phone for internet. 4 bars of AT&T 4G.
But in spite of the poor wifi we would stay here again.

Nice staff, typical amenities, decent dog park area, best sites seemed to be the ones closest to the highway (separated by farm field). Not so great ones over by the road it's on. Pool and hot tub clean. Showers and laundry but didn't use. Only issue is there is no stores around to restock, Yuma is close but not ebike close.
