“State Park in Yellow Springs, OH”
The Friends of John Bryan State Park was organized in 2003 when interested park patrons created a non-for-profit group to provide members of the community an opportunity to become involved in supporting park operations.
John Bryan is the most scenic state park in western Ohio. The 752-acre park contains a remarkable limestone gorge cut by the Little Miami River which is designated as a state and national scenic river.
Cool playground area, dog friendly and lots of parking. Didn't get to go on any trails because there was a mountain bike race going on and some random lady (who didn't even work for the park) yelled at us. I'd probably only come back here again if I had the dog with me. Clifton Gorge nearby has less stuff going on.
On weekdays this place is heavenly. Gorgeous hiking at Clifton Gorge, biking on the rail trail, access to fun and funky Yellow Springs, and quiet pastoral surroundings.
Drove up from Cincinnati on Memorial Day with a few friends to check out the climbing and I must say, we were impressed. The park is much bigger than we thought. There was tons to see and the place was booming. We parked at Clifton Gorge trail and hiked our gear in. The climbing walls were a 5 minute hike in and about 25 feet tall. The rock itself was muddy and wet, so make sure to bring a tarp for your gear. We really enjoyed the challenge and the scenery. I'd definitely recommend checking this place out!
