Whether you're looking to capture memories that you can look back on, or you just want to induce some serious Instagram envy amongst your followers, it's important to find the perfect place to take a picture that will commemorate your trip. California is filled with photogenic beauty, but the Sierra Nevadas in the middle of the state are exceptionally gorgeous. They're home to three National Parks, dozens of additional preserves, and countless natural wonders. Stop by these scenic spots as you road trip around the region... and don't forget to bring along your camera!

Panoramic Point

Located in King's Canyon National Park, Panoramic Point gives you an 180-degree view of sprawling canyons and the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains. The point is accessible by car, with a 20-minute drive up a winding road that leads to the top of the mountain. If you're looking for even more of an adventure, you can hike 2.5 miles up a mountain to Park's Point Lookout Tower, where you can see even more spectacular, panoramic views.

Three Rivers, CA

Known as the "Gem of the Sierras", Crescent Meadow is another place you won't want to miss. Located in Giant Forest, the meadow is extremely popular for hikers because of its beautiful views. Most of the trails are pretty moderate, and you can catch a glimpse of beautiful wildflowers and abundant wildlife... perfect for a picture-perfect post-hike picnic.

The meadow is near Moro Rock, which boasts a panoramic view of the high Sierras and forests gulches. The Rock is accessed by a 400-step trail, but we can guarantee that every step will be worth the unprecedented view!

Yosemite Valley, CA

Known to be an almost spiritual experience to some, Glacier Point is one of the best viewing spots in Yosemite National Park. The point gives you a premier 3,214-foot view of Yosemite Falls, the valley, and the imposing Half Dome. The point is easily accessible by car, with a short walk from the parking lot, and is open from late May to October. The beauty at Glacier Point is something that needs to be experienced to be understood, so just go and soak it all in for yourself.

5
Iris Meadow Campground

After all these views to take your breath away, it's time to settle down for the night and camp out! Iris Meadow Campground is located in an idyllic meadow, where you will be amongst wild irises and other beautiful flowers. It even features a few spots that are set right along Rock Creek. The campground is known for its peace and quiet, so you'll be able to relax and reflect upon your amazing trip. And you can feel right at home here, whether you're a novice camper or a pro, since Thor Industries makes RVs that can fit any style. The campground is closed during winter time and does not take reservations, so make sure to get there early during the summer.

Top off your journey at Devil's Postpile National Monument, a true geologic wonder. The monument consists of thousands of 60-foot columns of basalt formed nearly 100,000 years ago, and is now a beautiful site, with an unusual natural symmetry. Admire the unusual formation from below, and climb to the top to check out the view. Or, take a short hike from the park's ranger station to reach Rainbow Falls, a 101-foot waterfall that will take your breath away. Devil's Postpile is usually only open from June to October, so plan accordingly.

With panoramic views, countless geologic wonders, and serene natural retreats, this trip will leave you relaxed and at peace with nature. Bring along a camera and make sure to capture your favorite spots so that you can return to the beauty of the Sierra Nevadas time and time again.
