“steamy!”
Nestled on the South Fork of the Payette River below a highway campground, a staircase leads adventurers down to the soaking pools and small steaming waterfalls. THINGS TO KNOW Undeveloped hot springs, but vault toilets are available at campground Fees assessed for parking Camping sites available nearby. The campground is often full in the summer months.
This place was so cool! The hike down to the pools was a little tricky but very worth it.
Besides cougar hot springs outside of McKenzie Bridge in Oregon, this is hands down the best natural hot spring I've been to. Slept in the parking lot in the van though not ideal because there's some traffic on the road. People visiting well into the night, despite the rural location and hardcore drive (in the snow). Free as far as I could tell in the cold months.
