Witness firsthand the pioneer spirit
The Park of bronze sculptures begins with a wagon train heading west, causing a heard of bison to stampede. The bison emerge onto Dodge Street where they flush a flock of Canada geese. The geese take flight and conclude with their flying into the First National Tower. Together, Pioneer Courage and Spirit of Nebraska's Wilderness parks consist of more than 100 individual bronze pieces integrated within an urban environment that covers more than six city blocks. Individual sculpture pieces are 1.25 times life size and range in weight from 400 pounds to six tons.

The location in Roadtrippers is not accurate. The sculptures are mainly along Capital Avenue. Worth the stop (there is parking on the street right in front of the main statues). If you go all the way around the park, there are brochures about the installation at the top.

One of my favorite sculpture monuments in America! It really showed the boys what a real wagon train looked like. My boys chased rabbits & robins & other wildlife all in downtown Omaha! A can't miss!!!

We noticed these wonderful sculptures while enjoying the College World Series. What a spectacular addition to a classy midwestern city! And one of the artists is from my Corpus Christi home!
