Prefer to build your own trip from scratch? Opt for the “plan it myself” option! Our manual planner is ideal for travelers who have specific destinations and routes in mind and prefer to customize most or every aspect of their trip. You tell us where you’re going, and we’ll help you discover the places you might have otherwise missed along the way.

No matter how you start, every trip is fully customizable once it hits the map!

One of the best parts of trip planning? Adding more stops! Whether it’s your best friend’s house, a can’t-miss diner, or a hidden roadside attraction you didn’t know existed, Roadtrippers helps you discover, save, and organize them all in a clean, easy-to-follow itinerary.

Here are a few ways to add more stops:

• Use Explore to discover offbeat, fun attractions or travel necessities like food, fuel, overnights, and rest areas.
• If you know exactly where you’re headed, search for a place by name or address with the Add a Waypoint tool (waypoints are just what we call stops – same thing!).
• Want quick, highly rated suggestions along your route? Maybe even an entire day’s worth? Use Autopilot to enhance your trip.
• If you have a specific driving limit in mind, use the Trip Distance Tool to plan stops based on how far or how long you want to drive before your next break.

Once you’ve got your core trip planned, there are tons of ways to make it your own.

• Remove or rearrange waypoints. The order of your trip is totally up to you. Drag things around or delete what doesn’t fit.
• Add some “maybes”. Use unrouted waypoints to keep potential stops on your itinerary without locking them into your route. You can always route them later!
• Customize your route to take a different road or direction. Don’t want to drive over a mountain pass, or through a crowded metro area? On web, just drag and drop to set a different course!
• Add or modify your trip’s dates. Add dates to your stops to turn your plan into a dated itinerary that helps you stay on schedule.
