Road trip playlists are often the last thing you think about before hitting the road. You’ve packed the car or RV, fueled up, told the kids to use the bathroom one last time, and supplied enough water, soda, and snacks to feed a small army. The trunk is crammed so tightly and carefully that it looks like a giant Tetris game (that you won). You check the weather one last time, punch in the destination address on your GPS (who needs maps?), crank the engine and shift into reverse.
WAIT! YOU NEED TUNES!
Introducing the Get Gone “American Backroads Discovery” Series. Just some good tunage for those long drives – a road trip companion of sorts.
The first album, Southern Loop, is chock full of great blues, country, jazz, and roots music. The kind of music that will transform your Japanese hybrid sedan into a 1940’s Buick Roadmaster. Here’s a look at how the trip, and music, plays out:
Best to play this album when you’re on a southern road trip, like this one from Atlanta, GA to Nashville, TN to Birmingham, AL, and back to Atlanta:
The second album, Coastal Beaches, fits nicely with pretty much any trip to the beach. Even if you’re just heading to the Jersey shore for a long weekend, this handpicked playlist of Reggae’s rarities will transport you to a hammock in the Caribbean, cold cocktail in hand (of course).
So kick back, set the cruise-control to a conservative 60mph, and enjoy the vibe.
